Jessica Hopkins works in a volunteer capacity for the Australian Transgender Support Association of Queensland, which is a not-for-profit organisation that was formed in 1990 that helps to advise and assist the transgender community. Jessica has been involved in educating different groups about what it means to be transgender, and is passionate about addressing and correcting many of the myths and misconceptions about the transgender community. As a transgender woman herself, as well as being halfway through a degree in nursing, Jessica has an excellent insight into the challenges and issues surrounding healthcare in this community.
