Overview

My Health Record is an online summary of a person’s health information that can be shared by medical practitioners. In early 2019 My Health Record switched to an ‘opt out’ model and 90% of Australians now have a My Health Record. This session provides an insight into the scheme and covers:

What information can be included in a person’s My Health Record;
Who can access a person’s My Health Record;
What control a person can have over their health information;
Potential benefits and risks of the scheme for allied health professionals.

Amy Johnstone is an Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s medical negligence practice in Melbourne.
