Question: Does the addition of transcranial direct current stimulation

(tDCS) improve gait and motor function beyond that of dual task gait

training alone in Parkinson’s disease (PD)?

Conclusion: tDCS may not be an effective adjunct to dual task gait training

in PD.

Key Practice Points:

• Three weeks of dual task gait training is effective at improving gait while

concurrent tasks are performed in individuals with PD.

• Improvements are maintained at 12 weeks follow-up.

• The addition of tDCS did not result in greater improvements than

training alone.
