This 101 style intersex awareness session will provide an overview of what intersex is, who people with intersex variations are, and what are some of the issues associated with having intersex traits. The 60 minute session will cover the following areas:

 

  • A brief introduction to sex (and intersex)
  • A diverse population: bodies, identities, genders and language
  • Intersex health and human rights issues
  • Intersex and mental health outcomes
  • Intersex community: visibility, peer support and advocacy
