Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy team members have volunteered as Clinical Educators in Timor Leste since 2015. In that time, volunteering has not only been a transformative experience for the communities that the Active Rehab team serve, but also for the physiotherapists and business itself.
In this eTalk, John explores the wide-ranging benefits of volunteer work on his employees, business culture, job satisfaction, employee retention, mental health, and its positive impact on the physiotherapy profession. He delves into the psychological benefits and the positive impacts on personal, social, emotional, and professional aspects of volunteering.
Adjunct Associate Professor John Fitzgerald, MACP, is an APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, past chair of the APA National Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy Australia committee, an International Sports Physical Therapist and CEO of Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy.
