This lecture will be delivered by an Emergency Medicine Specialist, targeted to Advanced Practice Physiotherapists working in an acute setting e.g., Emergency Department. The presenter will cover the following topics during this lecture:

  • Approach to assessing a patient with shoulder pain presented to ED with no specific trauma history
  • History taking, assessment components including differential diagnosis of non-mechanical causes of pain
  • Role of x-ray, pathology and other tests
  • Indicators for escalating with the senior medical staff
