This webinar discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on physical activity in older people and rehabilitation.  It provides an overview of the importance of physical activity for older people, highlights the importance of supporting behaviour change and provides practical advice on how to support older people to remain active during the pandemic and beyond.  It also discusses some of the challenges in delivering rehabilitation via telehealth, and describes the development of a telehealth rehabilitation package for people with moderate to severe stroke.

 

Presenter/s

A/Professor Cathy Said [PhD, B App Sci (Physio)] is the inaugural Associate Professor Physiotherapy, Western Health & The University of Melbourne.  She has combined research with a clinical career and has over25 years experience working in neurological and aged care rehabilitation.  Her research focuses on rehabilitation of gait and balance disorders in older people with complex health conditions and people with neurological disorders.
