This 4-hour Masterclass will include an introduction to pelvic floor issues for the child from birth through to 18 years old: normal development and neurological control of the bladder and bowel; common neurological developmental problems with the bladder, bowel and pelvic floor; assessment and typical physiotherapy treatment of paediatric pelvic floor patients. This is a recording of a live virtual Masterclass which occurred on 24/10/2020.
Carina Siracusa, PT, DPT, WCS, OnCS has been a physiotherapist since 2005. She graduated from Ohio University in 2005 with her doctorate of physical therapy. She started her career as a pediatric physio but soon fell in love with the specialty of pelvic floor physiotherapy. She currently works for a large hospital system in Columbus, Ohio called OhioHealth. She is the primary pelvic floor physiotherapist for the neuro program as well as the transgender health program. She has taught for the American Physical Therapy Association's Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapists since 2010 in their pelvic health curriculum. She has developed courses in both pediatric pelvic health as well as pelvic health for the neurologically involved client and has been teaching these for the last several years. She holds board certifications in both women's health physiotherapy as well as oncology physiotherapy. |
