Peter Tuchin is a retired academic, current clinician, and has many years experience in chronic pain, including volunteering for Lifeline on the 13 11 14 crisis line. His presentation will cover: 

  • Enhance understanding of chronic pain
  • Review new treatment options and services available for chronic MSK problems
  • Suggested conversations over MSK & mental health
  • How to connect MSK health practitioners with mental health support
  • Improve societies understanding between mental and physical health
  • Lifeline's role and other support services

 

Presenter

Associate Professor Peter Tuchin is an accomplished academic and healthcare professional with extensive experience in chiropractic research and practice. With over 60 peer-reviewed publications and more than 670 citations, he has made significant contributions to the field, including leading one of the largest clinical trials on chiropractic treatment for migraines, resulting in three published papers. He has over 100 conference proceedings in national and international chiropractic forums. 

 

Peter holds prestigious fellowships from the Australian College of Chiropractic (FACC) and the Royal College of Chiropractic (FRCC). He has served in various academic roles, including Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University, and currently manages health services at Gosford & Wahroonga. His volunteer work includes key leadership positions with Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury, supporting mental health and crisis services. 

 

He has received numerous accolades, including Life Membership from the Chiropractic and Osteopathic College of Australia and being named Researcher of the Year by CAA NSW in 2016.
