The recent introduction of the Living Longer reforms in the home care sector will enable older people living at home for the first time to access restorative physiotherapy to meet their needs and maintain their independence. This webinar outlined the changes and the funding available to older Australians receiving a Home Support and Home Care Package. It also outlined the reforms promotion of wellness and reablement and how physio can play a vital role in keeping older people living at home. The Gerontology Physiotherapy Group believes that there are some barriers to older people living at home who want to receive this care and this webinar concludes with an outline of the APA's advocacy platform going forward in Home and Residential Aged Care.
