  • Overview

Almost all working age Australians have some form of disability insurance via their superannuation fund, a fact that can often be overlooked when a serious injury or illness turns life upside down. Yet this is exactly the time when a claim on such policies make all the difference.

Rhys will step through the features of all insurance entitlements commonly associated with superannuation, some important distinctions between default superannuation based insurance and personal life insurance products, and common challenges thrown up by insurers who would prefer not to pay out. Rhys will provide practical avenues to not only identify and understand existing entitlements, but also how to claim them if and when necessary.

Practitioners can apply what they learn to their personal circumstances, but may also benefit many patients by sharing these insights.
