Presentation to include typical cases from the wide range of QCH Physiotherapy-led screening clinics including spinal (scoliosis), musculoskeletal, normal variance and Rheumatology. There will be a brief discussion on the evolution and implementation of the screening clinic model within this patient cohort.

 

Presenters

Linda Camilleri, MACP (BPhty, MSportsPhty), is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with over 16 years of advanced practice experience in the public health sector, working across both adult and paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Screening Clinics at Mater Health Services and Queensland Children's Hospital. She has been instrumental in shaping and advancing paediatric advanced practice physiotherapy services at Queensland Children's Hospital and plays an active role in mentoring and training clinicians in advanced practice roles. Her current clinical scope focusses on the assessment and management of paediatric peripheral and spinal orthopaedic conditions in children and adolescents. In addition to her public sector work, Linda has extensive experience in private practice and has supported elite youth netball and basketball teams as both a physiotherapist and coach. Linda has a strong clinical and research interest in knee conditions across the lifespan, particularly anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. She is an Associate Investigator on the Queensland Children's Hospital ACL Registry and is passionate about injury prevention and improving outcomes for young people with musculoskeletal conditions. Drawing on her broad experience, Linda offers valuable insights into the evolving role and future directions of paediatric advanced practice physiotherapy within Queensland's healthcare system

 

Chelsea Schultz (MAdvPhysioPaeds, MPhtySt, BExSc.) QH Advanced Physiotherapist Paediatric Screener. Chelsea Schultz is an experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist with over 15 years of clinical experience, currently working in advanced practice roles within Queensland Health. Her current scope of practice includes primary contact screening for orthopaedic normal variants, hypermobility disorders, and rheumatological conditions. Chelsea also brings expertise in the assessment and management of congenital orthopaedic conditions such as clubfoot and developmental dysplasia of the hip, conducts high-risk infant neurodevelopmental screenings, and supports the care of children undergoing complex limb reconstruction. Alongside her clinical role, Chelsea is a committed supervisor for research honours students from the University of Queensland and actively supports research within paediatric orthopaedic normal variant clinics. She is passionate about fostering evidence-based practice and contributing to the development of future physiotherapists. With a strong foundation in both clinical excellence, leadership and academic mentorship, Chelsea is dedicated to advancing paediatric physiotherapy through collaborative care, innovation, and research translation.
