This lecture will cover the latest research and its clinical implications on the following topics. What are the associations between strength and activity after Stroke, specifically - the strength of the affected leg and walk speed after Stroke? How is this impacted by level of disability? How do we increase strength after Stroke across all grades of strength?

 

Presenter/s

Simone Dorsch is a clinician, researcher and educator in neurological physiotherapy. Simone has over 20 years experience in stroke, brain injury and aged care rehabilitation. She currently works as a senior lecturer at the Australian Catholic University and a presenter with the StrokeEd collaboration. She teaches workshops on evidence-based rehabilitation in stroke and aged care nationally and internationally. Her research focuses on the relationship between impairments and activity after stroke and strategies to increase amounts of practice in rehabilitation.
