This eTalk introduces the psychosocial matched care model — an evidence-based framework for early screening, assessment, and targeted intervention that matches care to the specific psychosocial barriers each injured worker faces. Drawing on Australian implementation data, including results showing 30%+ reductions in claim durations and significant cost savings, the presentation explains why physiotherapists are uniquely positioned to identify psychosocial risk early, use validated tools such as the Örebro Musculoskeletal Pain Screening Questionnaire, and collaborate effectively with employers, GPs, and case managers to improve outcomes.
