This CONVERSATION will use a webinar-style lecture, and share a dialogue between two holistic physiotherapists, considering how paying attention to a relational-approach to the clinical encounter can transform the experience of physiotherapy for both parties. A relational-approach transcends techniques to pay attention, in a direct way, to what emerges within the encounter. This approach has application in clinical encounters that are complex, uncertain and intense especially for chronic conditions like chronic pain. The lived-experiences of the physiotherapists form a framework that highlights the experiential and embodied aspects of the clinical encounter often unrecognised as having value.
