Dr Peter McCann, MRes(c) MAppSc BAppSc DAppSc FASLM FAICE, has thirty years clinical experience in the field of musculoskeletal and low back pain management. He is a casual academic at the School of Health, Medicine and Applied Sciences – Murdoch University. He is the developer of FlexEze heat wraps, a thermal medical device currently used in major hospitals and clinics for low back pain management. He is a co-ordinator and lecturer of two university lifestyle medicine units delivered at university allied health bachelor degree programs. He is the national clinical educator for Immuron, an Australian biotech company in the research and development of novel oral immunotherapies. He is certified by the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine and is a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and co-founder of the ASLM musculoskeletal CoP. He is an AHPRA registered allied health practitioner and is a registered Naturopath. He sits on two allied health association research committee boards. Peter has recently completed a Master in Research thesis at CQ University investigating the use of superficial heat in low back pain management by allied health practitioners in Australia. His research interest lies in non-pharmacological interventions for back pain management.
