Professor Peter D'Alessandro will outline the surgical treatment and the overall management of knee injuries and conditions seen in practice.
Professor Peter D’Alessandro specialises in arthroscopic reconstructive surgery with a particular interest in surgery for athletes. His shoulder practice encompasses instability surgery in particular (including Arthroscopic Stabilisation, Remplissage, Latarjet & Edin-Hybinette), while his wider sports surgery interests include ACL & multi-ligament knee reconstruction and hamstring surgery.
Pete trained in Western Australia, followed by stints in London and Vancouver. He runs the Perth Sports Surgery Fellowship based at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group where he is Director of the Sports Trauma Unit. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia and is co-founder of the Orthopaedic Research Foundation of Western Australia. He has published and presented widely and is the principal investigator of large RCTs assessing ACL surgery, hamstring repair and return to sport following shoulder instability surgery. Pete is an active member of ISAKOS, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Australian Knee Society and consults to a number of professional sporting organisations including the Fremantle Dockers, West Coast Eagles, Western Force, Perth Glory and Hockey Australia.
