Caitlin will be presenting a 1 hour lecture on neural tissue assessment – with specific focus on neurodynamic assessment and appropriate education and treatment principles. This presentation will challenge your clinical reasoning process to assess the involvement of neural tissue mechanosensitivity in musculoskeletal pain presentations. Caitlin will include a refresher on neural tissue anatomy, considerations during patient history in the requirement for neural tissue assessment and tips and tricks during neural provocation testing. 

 

Presenter

Caitlin Scott, MACP, is a titled APA Musculoskeletal and Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist. She completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy through James Cook University (Townsville) in 2009, a Masters of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy in 2019 and a Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2021 through Latrobe University. Caitlin is one of four Physiotherapists Australia-wide, commencing the Australian College of Physiotherapists Specialisation Training Program in 2024.

 

Caitlin has an extensive background in the Australian Defence Force as a uniformed Physiotherapist in the Australian Army for 11 years. She is passionate about supporting the veteran community through her knowledge as a service member with multiple operational experiences (Afghanistan), as well as understanding the transition into the civilian space, including navigating injury management and rehabilitation during this period.

 

Caitlin’s background also includes providing Physiotherapy support to a multitude of sports teams at a local, national, and international level, including the XXI Commonwealth Games in 2018 and Paralympic shooting disciplines. She is interested in several different sports and has a particular interest in shooting disciplines, and pole dancing/aerialists.

 

Caitlin uses a combination of functional movement and manual assessment to diagnose and facilitate rehabilitation. Caitlin is passionate about helping people understand their pain, injuries and conditions through education and developing goal-focused plans for long-term self-management.
