Physiotherapists are often called upon to present manual handling training and it is hard to know what to include and what parameters/guidelines to follow.
This session will:
Susan Mitchell, APAM, has been an APA member since moving to Tasmania in 1994 and has taken a keen interest in Manual Handling since she was a Senior Rehab Physio in Burnie. She became an accredited Manutention Trainer at the first Australian training course in 1998 and has also completed a Grad Dip in Occupational Health and Safety and Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. As an older physio she is acutely aware of the injuries that can be sustained through poor manual handling practices and also the range of techniques that are demonstrated and practiced in Hospitals, Aged and Community setting. She currently lives in Adelaide and works as a Senior Consultant in a private practice and predominantly provides injury prevention services across a range of industries.
