This talk will explore the process of using the Behaviour Change Wheel as a theoretical approach to understanding and managing patients’ behaviours. There will be an emphasis on clinical application and developing strategies for managing a patient who is deemed ‘unmotivated’.
Dr Tamina Levy, APAM is a Neurological Physiotherapist with over 35 years clinical experience. She currently works as an Advanced Practitioner in the rehabilitation services at Flinders Medical Centre and as a Senior Lecturer at Flinders University. In her PhD Tamina explored adherence to exercise in people with stroke, and she has continued to research this area with the co-design of an adherence toolkit which is currently being tested in a randomised controlled trial in people with stroke. Clinically, Tamina has developed expertise across a range of rehabilitation areas including neuro-prosthetic gait training and management of spasticity.
