This forum will bring together four experts in neurological upper limb rehabilitation to discuss treatment options, approaches and ideas. The panelists represent clinical and research experts from Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
Dr Kathryn Hayward is a PhD, Physiotherapist, Senior Research Fellow in Stroke Recovery and Dame Kate Campbell Fellow in the Departments of Physiotherapy, Medicine and Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health at the University of Melbourne. Kate leads the REPAIR research group (Recovery, Enrichment and Plasticity to promote Activity In neuroRehabilitation), which seeks to understand the brain-behaviour nexus during rehabilitation after stroke.
Dr Jannette Blennerhassett is a PhD, Physiotherapist, clinician-researcher. She currently is a senior clinician with Austin Health, Melbourne.
Dr Lauren Christie is a PhD, Occupational Therapist: clinician-researcher. She is renowned for implementation science and led the ACTIveARM project – increasing the delivery of CIMT interventions across multiple health networks in NSW. She currently holds the Senior Implementation Science Research Fellow in Allied Health with St Vincents Health – Sydney.
Belinda Woods is an Occupation Therapist: Clinician. She is the clinical lead OT in the community therapy services at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH). As part of this role, she is the lead therapist in the RMH Hand Hub a robotic and computer-based gaming facility - It has been specially developed for individuals who have difficulties using their hand or arm after a nervous system injury.
