This lecture aims to help clinicians understand drivers of pelvic floor hypertonicity outside the pelvis, and how understanding co-morbid conditions can help in overall exercise/intervention planning.
Dr Alison Grimaldi, MACP, BPhty, MPhty(Sports), PhD is an APA Sports Physiotherapist and the practice principal of Physiotec Physiotherapy in Brisbane, with over 30 years of clinical experience and a special interest in the management of hip and lumbopelvic conditions. Alison was a key investigator on the multicentre LEAP randomised clinical trial comparing the effects of treatment for gluteal tendinopathy. She continues her research interests as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of Queensland, and in collaborative international research.
