Marc Nickels led the CYCLIST RCT that investigated the effect of in-bed cycling on maintenance muscle mass and function in critically ill patients at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The results of this study have been presented internationally and have recently been published in peer reviewed journals.

Marc will present the findings of the CYCLIST study and discuss implications for the treatment of critically ill patients.

Presenter/s

Marc Nickels is a Senior Physiotherapist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He has a special interest in physiotherapy with critically ill patients. He is currently completing his PhD on the topic of Exercise in ICU.
